Solar Water Feature with Poposoap: Earth Day Special Event and Installation

Solar Water Feature with Poposoap: Earth Day Special Event and Installation

On an April morning, the sun shines through the mist in the garden, and I, Larry Satchwell, am excited to embark on a creative journey of symbiosis with nature. Today, I will work with Poposoap to show you the wonders of a 75-watt solar water pump, and also warm up for the upcoming Earth Day special competition. This competition is centered around "Best Water Feature Installation" and aims to encourage everyone to use environmentally friendly equipment to create unique natural landscapes, and this solar water pump is undoubtedly an excellent creative tool.

Unboxing and Initial Exploration: Dissecting the Details of the Solar Water Pump

When I got this solar water pump, its complete supporting equipment was eye-catching. The set includes a water pump body with a waterfall function, a suitable storage bag, a high-quality hose, and a solar panel with a size of 27 inches wide and 20 inches high, and the board body also comes with a stable bracket. What I am most curious about is the length of the cable, because it directly determines the layout possibilities of the installation. After measurement, the water pump cable is 10 feet (about 3 meters) long, and the connection line of the solar panel is long enough. With the included extension cable, it can fully meet the wiring needs of complex terrain.

The water pump itself is exquisitely designed, with a built-in filter and four rubber feet at the bottom, which can be placed firmly on the bottom of the water. The matching overflow channel needs to be glued with silicone, and the official also emphasizes the use of a protective bag to cover the water pump to extend the service life of the filter. During the initial assembly, I first tried the situation without the protective bag, because I used a clean water source and wanted to test the performance of the water pump first. When the solar panel was connected, the water pump started quickly, and the gushing effect of the water flow at the highest gear was amazing – even if the device was not fully leveled, the water flow easily reached a height of 6 feet (about 1.8 meters), which made me full of expectations for its "lifting ability".

Coping with Cloudy Weather and Creative Layout

The next day was cloudy, and the solar panel did not work properly, which made me realize the importance of battery backup power, so I immediately decided to purchase related accessories. However, this did not disrupt my plan, but gave me more time to focus on the layout design of the waterscape. I plan to bury a bucket at the edge of the garden, set it at a low position for children to observe, plant aquatic plants and raise one or two small goldfish in the bucket, which can not only beautify the environment but also play a role in repelling mosquitoes.

Hidden Solution for Solar Panels

At first, I was worried that the larger solar panel would ruin the overall beauty of the garden, but Poposoap's thoughtful design solved this problem. The extra-long connection cable and extension cable allowed me to install the solar panel on top of the tomato rack – this position can fully receive sunlight and cleverly hide among the green plants. The wires are protected by PVC pipes to avoid accidental damage by lawn mowers, and they will be buried underground later to make the whole device more natural.

Installation and Testing Details Control

When gluing the overflow channel, although the instructions did not specify the curing time, as a woodworking enthusiast, I knew that this type of adhesive usually takes 24 hours to fully cure, so I waited patiently. Then I started digging the installation pit for the bucket. During the process, I found that the old bucket had cracks, so I went to Lowe's to buy a similar new bucket, which cost about $10. I also deliberately dug the pit a little bigger to ensure the level.

When everything is ready, the moment when the power is turned on is exciting. The water flows upward along the pipe. Although the device has not been completely leveled, the water flow effect is still excellent. Since there is no long enough wooden board to measure the exact height, I roughly estimate that the water flow lift height is about 4 feet (about 1.2 meters), which is far beyond expectations. For temporary waterproofing, I used multiple layers of black plastic film. Considering that the design may be adjusted in the future, I did not buy a dedicated pond liner for the time being.

Earth Day Competition: Participation Methods and Generous Prizes

With the preliminary completion of the waterscape installation, I can't wait to share Poposoap's Earth Day special competition with you. The competition officially started on April 10th and has set up generous prizes:

  • First Prize: 1: $300 cash prize
  • Second Prize: 2: Same Waterfall Kit
  • Third Prize: 2: Filter Pump Kit

The way to participate is simple: just create and submit your work around the theme of "Best Waterscape". All details can be found in the relevant description. If you like this kind of environmentally friendly creative content, please share it with more people, or forward my article to platforms such as Facebook.

Subsequent Plans: Vision of Symbiosis with Nature

Subsequent Plans: Vision of Symbiosis with Nature

Currently, the waterscape device has been running stably for 24 hours (it stops working at night due to lack of sunlight) without any water leakage. I added more flowers and mulch around it, and when the parrot feather grass grows up, it will completely cover the black plastic, making the landscape more natural and harmonious. I also ordered a battery kit, and will make a follow-up article to share the installation process after it arrives.

I will share more progress with you in the garden on April 15th. This collaboration with Poposoap not only allowed me to experience the charm of environmental protection equipment, but also made me feel the possibility of harmonious coexistence between humans and nature. On this special day of Earth Day, I hope that through this competition, more people will be inspired to protect the earth with creativity, so that every small water feature can become a beautiful note in the music of nature.
