No, it's not necessary to keep the battery pack plugged in constantly. The solar panel charges the battery pack by converting sunlight into energy. Once fully charged, you can unplug the battery pack from the solar panel and connect it to your fountain pump. This allows the fountain to keep running even when theres no direct sunlight, using the stored energy in the battery.

Thank you for your interest! Poposoap solar pumps are specifically engineered to operate using solar energy only and do not support adapters for converting to electrical (AC) power. Theyre built to maximize energy efficiency and sustainability by harnessing the power of the sun no wiring or outlets needed. If you're looking for longer runtime or backup options, we recommend checking out our battery backup kits, which store solar energy and keep your fountain running even without full sun. Need help choosing the right setup? We're always here to assist!
We love your creativity but unfortunately, shining a solar floodlight on your solar panel at night won't make the pump work. Heres why: Solar panels require full-spectrum natural sunlight, especially UV and infrared light, to generate the voltage needed to power the pump. Most solar floodlights, even very bright ones, do not emit the same light spectrum as the sun they mainly produce visible light, which isnt sufficient to activate the solar panel. ? Want your pump to run at night? We recommend using a battery backup system designed for Poposoap pumps. These batteries store solar energy during the day and automatically power your pump at night or during cloudy periods. ?? Click here to view compatible battery backup options Note: Our battery packs are built specifically for Poposoap fountains and wont work with panels from other brands due to connector differences. If you're unsure which battery fits your pump model, we're happy to help just reach out!
The type of plug used may vary depending on the model of your solar water pump. Common plug types include: DC barrel connectors (most common for Poposoap pumps) MC4 connectors (often used in larger solar systems) Anderson Powerpole connectors (less common in garden fountains) Most Poposoap solar pumps use custom DC connectors designed specifically for compatibility with Poposoap panels and battery packs. These connectors ensure a safe, water-resistant fit and are not compatible with other brands or third-party panels. To be sure, please check the product manual or contact us with your model number or a photo of your setup, and well confirm the exact plug type for you.
Were sorry to hear that youre having an issue with the mounting bracket and were here to help! If your pump is pulsing (starting and stopping rhythmically) rather than running smoothly, this usually indicates a power delivery issue or partial obstruction. Heres how to troubleshoot it: ? Try the following steps: Check the wire connection: Make sure the cable between the solar panel and the pump is fully plugged in and the locking ring is tightened. A loose connection can interrupt power flow and cause pulsing. Clean the impeller and filter: Debris inside the pump even small particles can cause the magnet impeller to stall intermittently, which looks like pulsing. Open the pump and clean it thoroughly. Test without nozzle attachments: Remove any spray heads or riser tubes and run the pump directly. Nozzles that are clogged or misaligned can cause inconsistent back pressure. Check sunlight consistency (for non-battery models): Even slight shadows or cloud cover can cause rapid on/off cycles in solar-only models. Make sure the panel is in full, direct sunlight without shifting shadows. Battery output check (if applicable): If youre using a battery backup, ensure its holding a full charge and is properly connected. A weak battery may trigger pulsing instead of stable output. If the issue persists after checking all of the above, please contact us with: Your order number A brief description or video of the issue Your shipping address Well be happy to help you further or arrange a replacement unit if necessary.

Absolutely and we love that you're thinking about both form and function! Here are some creative and practical ways to keep your PoposoapSolar system tidy and beautiful: ? Low-profile wire hiding tips: Use decorative rocks or slate: Place flat stones or small rock piles over the wire path. It blends in naturally with pond edges, bird baths, and garden beds. Run it under mulch or soil: If your panel is nearby, gently tuck the wire under a thin layer of mulch, soil, or ground cover plants for a seamless look. Use tubing or conduit: Run the wire through black irrigation tubing or flexible outdoor conduit for a clean, weather-protected appearance. Camouflage with plantings: Let vines, ornamental grasses, or ground creepers grow along the wire path functional and gorgeous! Zip tie along a garden border: If your wire runs along a hard edge (stone border, fence, or trellis), use small zip ties or clips to keep it secure and tidy. ?? Pro Tip: If your solar panel is mounted away from the water source, keep the wire path low and stable to avoid trip hazards and to protect it from mower or pet damage. Thank you again for supporting Poposoap we're thrilled your fountain is bringing beauty to your space!
While the 6.5W solar fountain pump does come with tubing support for alternative water features (like bubblers or hidden flow applications), it does not include a connector that allows tubing to attach directly to the spray nozzles. ?? What the tubing is for: Directing water through a hose outlet for custom setups (like tabletop fountains or bubbling rocks) Not for use with spray-style nozzles (flower, umbrella, multi-hole attachments) ? Why this might feel misleading: Our Amazon product description mentions tubing for water features, but we did not clearly state that it cannot be connected to the included spray nozzles and we sincerely apologize for that. Were updating our listings to better reflect this limitation and avoid any further confusion for future customers. ? What you can do: If you want to use your tubing to create a custom water feature, we suggest: Removing the nozzle and attaching the tubing directly to the pump outlet Using the tubing in hidden water paths (e.g. through a bubbler rock, mini waterfall, or planter fountain) Still unsure about setup? Please feel free to email us at support@poposoapsolar.com with photos or design ideas we're happy to offer custom suggestions.
At this time, Poposoap does not sell separate extension cords specifically for our RGB LED pond lights on Amazon or our website. However, were happy to help you find a compatible solution. ? Here's what you need to know: The RGB pond lights typically use a DC low-voltage connector (often 2.1mm or 2.5mm barrel plug) exact specs may vary by model. If youre looking to extend the reach between the power supply and the first light, you may be able to use a universal DC extension cable but it must match: Voltage and amperage of your light system Connector size and polarity (center-positive or center-negative) ?? Important: Always check your product manual or contact us with your model details before using third-party extension cords, to avoid compatibility or safety issues.
Some Poposoap solar pump and battery models use different-sized DC barrel or weather-pack connectors, depending on wattage and generation. If the connectors dont fit together: ? Heres how we can help: Well send you the correct adapter to ensure a safe and snug connection between your battery and pump. Please email us with the following: Your order number A photo of the battery and pump connectors (to identify the exact size) Your shipping address ?? Email: support@poposoapsolar.com ?? Important Note: Please dont try to force the connection or modify the plugs doing so may damage the components or void your warranty. Well take care of it! We appreciate your patience and well get your pond setup powered and flowing again soon. ??
Technically yes but only under specific conditions. Connecting two solar panels can increase power output or reliability, but only if theyre compatible and safely configured. Here's what you need to know: ? You can connect 2 solar panels if: Both panels are the same voltage (e.g. 18V each) Both panels have the same polarity and connector type You're using a Y-connector or solar combiner cable designed for DC connections Your pump and battery system is rated to handle the combined wattage and amperage ?? However, Poposoap does not currently support dual-panel input on most pumps. Our pumps and batteries are pre-configured for single-panel use Over-voltage or incorrect wiring may damage the pump or battery unit Warranty may be voided by DIY electrical modifications ?? Alternative suggestions: Use a larger single panel (e.g. upgrade from 20W to 30W or 50W) Improve performance by optimizing panel placement and tilt Consider adding a battery backup to store solar power instead of doubling panels ?? Want help customizing? Send us: Your current setup details Your pump model Photos or diagrams if available Well help you decide whether a custom dual-panel setup is safe for your system. ?? support@poposoapsolar.com
Actually solar panels dont need to charge, but if your system includes a battery backup, then the battery is whats being charged by the solar panel. ?? Battery Charging Time (Typical Poposoap Solar Pump Kits): Battery Capacity Charging Time (Full Sun) Runtime After Sunset 2200mAh 6C8 hours 1C2 hours 2600mAh 6C8 hours 2C3 hours 3000mAh+ 6C10 hours 2C5 hours ?? Full Sun means 6C8 hours of direct, unobstructed sunlight no shadows, clouds, or dirty panel surface. ?? If your pump is solar-only (no battery): It does not store power it starts working immediately when placed in strong sunlight and stops when the sun fades or is blocked. ?? Pro Tip: To optimize charging, position your solar panel: Facing true south (in the northern hemisphere) At a 30C45 angle Wipe the panel surface clean every few weeks Still not sure if your model has a battery or how to set it up? Email us with your order number and well be happy to help! ?? support@poposoapsolar.com
The 45W Poposoap solar pump kit and the 4400mAh battery backup (PQ-DC4400) occasionally use different-sized DC barrel connectors, depending on the production batch. Because of this, a connector adapter may be required to properly connect the battery to the panel and pump. ? Heres what to do: Dont force the connection mismatched barrel sizes can cause loose contact or electrical issues. Please email us with the following: Your order number A clear photo of the ends of your battery, pump, and solar panel connectors Your shipping address ?? Send to: support@poposoapsolar.com Once we confirm your parts, we will ship you the correct adapter at no cost so everything connects securely and safely. ?? Note: Some 45W systems use DC5.5x2.1mm while others use DC5.5x2.5mm or weather-pack connectors they look similar but are not interchangeable without the right adapter. We truly appreciate your patience and are committed to making sure your fountain runs perfectly!
The Poposoap 55W solar panel typically measures: Length: 20.5 inches (52 cm) Width: 16.5 inches (42 cm) Thickness: 1.2 inches (3 cm) ?? Note: These dimensions may vary slightly depending on model revision or whether the panel includes an integrated frame or bracket.

Performance & Troubleshooting

Low Voltage or Battery Warning The red blinking light means the battery voltage is too low to safely run the pump. This can happen after cloudy days, excessive overnight use, or if the battery didnt fully charge during the day.
No worries this is usually easy to resolve! When your pump stops working after operating normally for some time, its typically caused by one of the following: ? Step-by-step troubleshooting: 1. Check for overheating or auto shut-off Many Poposoap pumps have thermal or dry-run protection. If the pump overheats or senses low water, it will shut off automatically. ? Solution: Let it cool for 15C30 minutes, make sure its fully submerged, and restart under direct sun. 2. Clean the pump and filter Algae, debris, or dirt buildup can clog the impeller or restrict flow. ? Solution: Open the front cover and gently rinse the impeller and intake with clean water. 3. Check the solar panel If sunlight fades or the panel gets shaded, the pump will shut off (especially if no battery is connected). ? Solution: Clean the panel surface, reposition for direct sunlight, and reconnect all cables tightly. 4. Inspect all wiring and plugs A loose cable between the panel, battery, or pump can cause intermittent shutoff. ? Solution: Unplug and reconnect all connections securely. Look for frayed wires or bent pins. 5. Battery backup (if included) If you're using a battery model, a red or blinking light may indicate low power. ? Solution: Let the panel recharge the battery fully (6C8 hrs of sun), or test the pump directly without the battery. ?? Still not working? Were here to help. Please send us: Your order number A brief description of your setup Optional: Photos or video of your panel, pump, and connection points ?? Email: support@poposoapsolar.com Well help troubleshoot or arrange a warranty replacement if needed. ??
If your solar pump is flashing red and blue alternately every 2C3 seconds, it typically means that the current from the solar panel is too low to run the pump. This can happen even if the filters are clean and the pump is underwater. Try repositioning the solar panel to receive direct sunlight make sure it's not shaded or at an incorrect angle. A strong, consistent light source is essential for proper operation.
The red and blue flashing lights indicate the status of your solar pump: Blue light: The pump is working properly. Red light: The pump is not working. No light: The pump may have no power or could be damaged. Here are a few things to check before contacting support: Ensure direct sunlight: Place the solar panel in a spot with full sun exposure shade or cloudy conditions can interrupt performance. Check the connection: Confirm that the wires between the solar panel and pump are fully inserted and the threaded ring is tightly screwed. A loose connection may appear plugged in but isnt secure. Inspect for clogs: Clean the water pump and internal filter to remove any debris or buildup. Clean the solar panel surface: Dust, dirt, or water stains can reduce power generation. Wipe it clean regularly. Open all valves: Make sure the water flow control valves are rotated fully to the open position. Fill the pump with water: Ensure the back chamber of the pump is filled and the sensor is submerged the pump wont activate unless the sensor detects water. If the issue persists after these steps, please email our support team with your order number and shipping address, and well arrange a replacement if needed. Thank you!
Some smaller Poposoap pumps come with built-in battery storage, allowing them to store solar energy during the day and run briefly after sunset. However, larger pumps typically require more power and may not include a battery unless stated so they rely entirely on direct sunlight for operation. If your larger pump stops immediately when theres no sun, thats expected behavior unless a battery backup is installed. Before assuming its a power issue, please check the following: Full sun exposure: Make sure the solar panel is in an open area without shade or obstruction. Secure connections: Check that the plug between the pump and panel is fully inserted and the threaded ring is tightened completely. Pump cleanliness: Clean the pump body and internal filter clogs reduce performance. Solar panel surface: Wipe the panel clean if dusty or dirty. Valve settings: Ensure that all water flow valves are turned fully open. Water priming: Make sure the rear chamber of the pump is filled with water so the sensor can detect submersion. If your area has limited sunlight hours, we recommend adding a battery backup (compatible with larger pumps). Click here to view battery options
If your pump was working before cleaning and now shows a blinking red/blue light, it usually indicates a power or connection issue. Please check the following steps to troubleshoot: Ensure full sunlight: Place the solar panel in direct, unobstructed sunlight. Shade or cloudy weather can reduce power. Check the cable connection: Make sure the threaded ring that connects the solar panel to the pump is fully tightened. Push it in firmly, then twist the ring to lock. Double-check for clogs: Even after cleaning, debris can get lodged in the impeller or filter. Re-clean the pump and filter carefully. Clean the solar panel surface: Dust or dirt on the panel can reduce its efficiency wipe it with a soft cloth. Open the flow valve: Make sure the water pumps regulating valve is fully turned to the open position. Prime the pump: Before starting, make sure the back chamber of the pump is filled with water so the sensor detects water and allows operation. If youve gone through all the steps and it still doesn't work, please email our support team. Include your order number and shipping address well be happy to send you a replacement if needed.
Were sorry to hear you're experiencing low water pressure! Here are a few steps to help improve performance: Check water flow and intake: Make sure the pump is fully submerged and that the water intake is not blocked or restricted. Clean the pump and filter: Even small debris can reduce water pressure. Disassemble and clean the pump and internal filter thoroughly. Adjust the nozzle or spray head: Some models include multiple nozzles or adjustable spray patterns. Try different ones to see which delivers the strongest upward flow. Maximize solar exposure: Ensure the solar panel is receiving direct, full sunlight no shadows, no obstructions. Tilt and angle the panel toward the sun for optimal results. Note: Water height may vary slightly depending on sunlight intensity and time of day. Maximum height (like 1 meter) is typically achieved under strong midday sun with clean water and proper setup. If you've tried all of the above and the water pressure is still weak (e.g. only reaching 1C2 inches), please contact our support team with your order number and a brief description of the issue. Were happy to help you troubleshoot or provide a replacement if necessary.
If your solar pump starts, runs briefly, and then shuts off even after cleaning it may be related to a few mechanical or connection issues. Here's how to troubleshoot: ? Basic checks: Ensure full sunlight: Make sure the solar panel is in direct sunlight with no shade or obstruction. Cloudy weather or partial shading will reduce performance. Check the cable connection: Ensure the connection between the solar panel and pump is secure. Push the plug in fully and tighten the threaded ring. Clean the pump and filter again: Even a small piece of debris near the impeller or magnet flywheel can cause the motor to stall. Remove the faceplate and clean inside carefully. Inspect the metal rod & impeller (magnet flywheel): If the metal rod that goes through the impeller seems loose or misaligned, it can cause the pump to spin intermittently. Try adjusting the screws on the faceplate slightly to see if alignment improves. Remove the nozzle and test again: Try running the pump without any nozzle attached this eliminates back-pressure and helps isolate the problem. Prime the pump with water: Ensure the pump is completely submerged and that the vent hole at the back is filled. The sensor must detect water to activate the pump properly. Clean the solar panel surface: Dirt, dust, or water spots on the panel can reduce output. Use a soft cloth to clean it thoroughly. ??? Still not working? If youve checked everything above and the issue continues, please contact us by email with: Your order number A brief description of the problem Photos or videos if possible We'll be happy to send you a replacement pump if needed. Thank you for your patience and support!
Yes you can definitely adjust the spray to better fit smaller spaces like bird baths. Here are two easy ways to fix it: Switch to a smaller nozzle: Your 6W fountain pump comes with multiple nozzle heads. Choose one with a narrower spray pattern or fewer holes to reduce the water spread. Lower the water flow or level: Reducing the water level slightly can help decrease the spray height and diameter, making it more suitable for compact bird baths. ?? Tip: You can also run the pump without a nozzle for a gentle bubbling effect thats bird-friendly and less likely to splash over the edges. Still not sure which nozzle to use? Feel free to send us a photo of your setup were happy to recommend the best fit.
If the water is only flowing straight up and not fanning or spraying outward, it likely means one of the interchangeable spray nozzles is either missing or hasnt been attached yet. ? Heres what to do: Check the nozzle attachments included in your box: Most Poposoap solar pumps come with 3C4 nozzle heads offering different spray styles (straight, frayed/fountain, bubbling, and shower styles). If you're only seeing one, its possible the others are still in the packaging or were left out. To change the spray pattern: Gently pull off the current nozzle (if attached) Choose another nozzle head with more holes or a wider cap Push it securely onto the riser or pump outlet Adjust water level or angle if needed ?? The frayed or fan-style spray usually comes from the nozzle with multiple tiny side holes or a flower-like pattern. ? Missing Nozzles? If your box only included one nozzle instead of four, please contact us and well make it right! ?? Email us with your order number and a photo of your kit at support@poposoapsolar.com, and well send you the correct nozzle set. Were here to help your pond look and sound just the way you envisioned it!
After about a year of use, your solar pump may experience wear or buildup that affects performance. Heres what to do: ? Step 1: Basic Troubleshooting Check sunlight exposure: Make sure the solar panel is receiving direct, unobstructed sunlight. Inspect the wiring connection: Ensure the plug between the panel and pump is fully inserted and the threaded ring is tight. Clean the pump and filter: Debris, algae, or mineral buildup inside the impeller can cause the pump to stop. Open and rinse all parts thoroughly. Wipe the solar panel surface: Dust or dirt can reduce output clean with a soft cloth and water. Check for signs of damage: Look for cracks, corrosion, or wear on the panel, pump, or wiring. ??? Still not working? If youve tried all of the above and the pump still doesnt operate, please email us with: Your order number A brief description of the issue (Optional but helpful) Photos or a short video Your shipping address ?? Contact: support@poposoapsolar.com Well help determine whether your unit is eligible for a warranty replacement, discounted upgrade, or troubleshooting support. ?? Most Poposoap products come with a 1-year limited warranty, so if you're just around the 12-month mark, please dont hesitate to reach out. We appreciate your support and look forward to getting your fountain running again!

That depends on whether your model includes a battery backup or not: ? If your pump is solar-only (no battery): Theres no charging time required. As soon as the panel is connected and receives direct, strong sunlight, the pump will start working immediately even on day one. ?? Note: Cloudy skies or shade will reduce or stop performance. The pump doesnt store energy on its own. ?? If your pump includes a battery backup: The solar panel will need several hours of direct sunlight (typically 6C8 hours) to fully charge the battery. Once charged, the pump can operate: In sunlight (solar power) Or after sunset (battery power) ?? Pro Tip: If your pump isnt running right after installation, double-check that the panel is angled directly toward the sun and all connections are secure. Still unsure whether your model has a battery? Feel free to contact us with your order number were happy to confirm it for you!

our solar pump with a 3000mAh battery is designed to run after sunset for approximately 2C5 hours, depending on how much direct sunlight the panel receives during the day. ? Here's how it works: During the day, the solar panel powers the pump and charges the battery. After sunset (or during cloudy periods), the battery takes over to keep the pump running. If the battery did not receive enough charge (due to cloudy weather, panel shading, or low sun angle), it may not power the pump at night. ??? Troubleshooting tips: Check panel placement: Make sure the panel is receiving full, unobstructed sunlight for at least 6C8 hours per day. Clean the solar panel surface: Dirt, dust, or water spots can significantly reduce charging efficiency. Ensure proper connection: Confirm that the battery is properly connected between the solar panel and the pump, and that all cables are fully plugged in. Wait for a full sunny day: Try allowing a full day of strong sun (no usage during the day) to fully charge the battery, then test operation after sunset. ? Still not working? If the pump still doesnt operate at night after a full day of direct sun, your battery may not be holding charge properly. Please send us: Your order number A description of your setup Optional: Photos of the panel, battery, and pump wiring ?? Contact: support@poposoapsolar.com Were happy to check if a replacement battery or unit is needed under warranty.
For a 110-gallon pond that already has a filter box, we recommend a solar pump with the following specs: ? Ideal Pump Specs: Flow Rate: 150C250 GPH (gallons per hour) Wattage: 10WC20W solar panel (depending on sun exposure) Battery Backup: Yes 2200mAh to 2600mAh recommended Output: Compatible with your filter boxs inlet tubing (usually 8C10mm ID) ?? Recommended Poposoap Option: ?? Poposoap 20W Solar Fountain Pump Kit with Battery Backup 320GPH flow rate Adjustable spray and tubing output Comes with 2600mAh battery runs for 2C4 hours after sunset Works well with filter boxes for light-to-moderate debris loads ?? This kit strikes a good balance: powerful enough for 110 gallons, but compact enough for above-ground installations. ?? Things to check before purchasing: Tubing compatibility with your filter box (usually 5/16" or 3/8" ID) Depth & dimensions of the pond make sure the pump can sit fully submerged Sun exposure: 6+ hours of full sun per day is ideal for charging Still unsure? Send us: A photo of your pond & filter box Tubing size and desired water flow effect (fountain vs. circulation) Well help match the perfect setup! ?? Email: support@poposoapsolar.com
We understand how frustrating this can be, and we're here to help. Please follow these quick steps so we can assist you properly: ? Step 1: Quick Troubleshooting Check all connections: Ensure the battery is firmly connected between the solar panel and the pump, and that all plugs are fully inserted and the threaded rings are tightened. Give it a full sunny day to charge: The battery needs 6C8 hours of strong, direct sunlight to fully charge. If its cloudy or shaded, charging may be insufficient. Confirm LED indicators (if your battery has them): Some Poposoap batteries include an LED charge indicator. No lights? It may not be charging or could be defective. ??? Still not working? No problem well take care of it. Please send the following to our support team: Your order number (Amazon or Poposoap site) A brief description of your issue A photo or video of the battery and setup (optional but helpful) Your full name and shipping address ?? At this time, Poposoap does not officially offer a DC splitter cable designed specifically for running both a solar pump and lighting system from one battery backup. However we absolutely understand the need, and many users have explored safe DIY solutions. ? What you can do: If youre comfortable with a DIY setup, you may use a third-party DC splitter (Y-cable), but be sure it meets the following: ?? Requirements: Voltage Rating: Must support 12VC18V DC (depending on your battery/pump system) Current Rating: Should handle at least 3C5A total draw Connector Type: Match your system (usually DC 5.5mm x 2.1mm or 5.5mm x 2.5mm barrel plug) Polarity: Must be center-positive to avoid damaging the devices ?? Important: Using an unofficial splitter does carry risk if the combined power draw exceeds the batterys capacity, which could cause: Reduced performance Shorter battery life System instability ?? Alternative Suggestion: If your lighting includes its own solar panel and battery, it may be best to keep the systems separate for optimal performance and stability.

Usage Scenarios

The 450 GPH Solar Water Fountain from Poposoap is not designed to float. It is a submersible pump that should be placed at the bottom of a pool, pond, or water feature, while the solar panel remains outside the water, positioned in direct sunlight. ?? Placing the pump on the surface or attempting to make it float may cause performance issues or damage the unit. If you're looking for a floating fountain option, please check out our smaller solar fountain models designed specifically for bird baths or shallow basins. Need help choosing the right model for your space? Feel free to contact us were happy to guide you!
Thank you for reaching out and we're so glad to hear that the pump itself is working well! The 35W Poposoap Solar Water Pump (480 GPH) is designed for larger applications such as: Fish ponds Small waterfalls Hydroponic systems Water gardens Pools Because of its powerful flow and larger pump body, it requires a deeper basin (typically at least 12C16 inches deep) to be fully submerged and operate safely. ?? Not recommended for: Standard bird baths or shallow bowls these are typically only 2C4 inches deep and better suited for smaller solar pumps like our 6W model. ? What are your options? Switch to a smaller pump: If you're set on using a bird bath, we recommend trying our 6W Solar Fountain Pump it's compact, easy to install, and designed specifically for small, shallow basins. Find a deeper water container: If youd prefer to keep your 35W pump, look for a garden pot, basin, or planter with at least 12C16 inches of depth and a wide surface to accommodate spray reach. We apologize for not having a bird bath recommendation that suits the 35W system, as its typically used for pond or hydro-based setups. If you'd like help selecting a compatible smaller pump or customizing your setup, feel free to email us with your order number were happy to help! ?? support@poposoapsolar.com
We hear you! Because solar pond filter boxes are often lightweight, they can float, drift, or shift especially when water flow is strong or if the box is only partially submerged. ? Here are several easy ways to keep it in place: ?? 1. Add weight to the filter box Place small stones or gravel inside the box (in a mesh bag or under the filter media) to weigh it down without blocking water flow. You can also attach flat river rocks or ceramic tiles to the bottom using zip ties or pond-safe adhesive. ?? 2. Anchor it with a tether Tie nylon string or fishing line to the filter box and secure it to a nearby rock, stake, or pond edge. Use pond-safe clips or suction anchors if attaching to a liner. ?? 3. Nestle it between rocks or edge plantings Position the box snugly between pond edging stones or marginal plants to help prevent it from drifting. This works especially well if your pond has a shelf or shallow zone near the edge. ?? Bonus tip: Make sure your intake is fully submerged and the box is level if the water level drops too low on one side, it can tilt and float again.
Yes! Many Poposoap solar pumps especially models with tubing and steady flow are a great fit for bubble rock fountains. ? What youll need for it to work: Pump Compatibility: Choose a model with tubing output, not just spray nozzles 12W, 20W, and 25W Poposoap solar pumps are ideal for small to medium bubble rocks Look for 200C480 GPH flow rate, depending on the desired bubbling intensity Battery Backup (Recommended): For consistent bubbling throughout the day (and early evening), go with a solar pump that includes battery backup Tubing Fit: Make sure the tubing fits your bubble rock inlet (most rock fountains use 3/8" or 1/2" ID tubing) Poposoap tubing sizes are typically 8mm to 12mm (5/16" to 1/2") Submersion Space: The pump needs to be fully submerged in a hidden reservoir beneath or beside the bubble rock ?? Bonus Tip: Place the solar panel in full sun, and hide the tubing under decorative stones for a natural, low-maintenance look.

Sizing & Specifications

Thank you for your interest! For a water trough of approximately 160 gallons, it's important to select a pump that provides: Good circulation without splashing outside the container A spray pattern that stays within the 20-inch width of the trough Energy-efficient performance suited to the depth and shape of your setup ? Our recommendation: We recommend one of our 12W or 20W solar fountain pump kits with adjustable nozzles or flow control features. These models offer: Flow rate between 160C320 GPH, ideal for 100C200 gallon water features Spray height and width that can be adjusted or minimized using included nozzles Optional battery backup for consistent performance even during partial sunlight ?? View compatible solar pumps here ?? Tip: Avoid models with wide multi-spray patterns unless used in open basins. Use a single-stream nozzle or bubble-style head to stay within the 20" width of your trough. If youd like help selecting a specific model or kit, please reply with whether you prefer: Daytime-only (solar direct) Solar + battery backup A bubbling effect vs. tall fountain spray We're happy to recommend the perfect fit!
The 6-watt Poposoap solar fountain pump typically uses tubing with an inner diameter (ID) of 8mm (approximately 5/16 inch). ? Tubing Size: 8mm ID (5/16") ?? Nozzle Compatibility: Most nozzle connectors included with the 6W kit are designed to fit this size securely. If you're replacing or extending the tubing, be sure to use soft, flexible vinyl or silicone tubing to ensure a tight seal and avoid leakage. Still unsure which size fits your model? Feel free to send us a photo of your setup or the nozzle outlet were happy to confirm the specs for you!
The 6W Poposoap solar pump features a compact submersible pump that is ideal for smaller fountains and bird baths. ? Pump dimensions (approximate): Length: 2.4 inches (6.2 cm) Width: 1.9 inches (4.8 cm) Height: 1.6 inches (4.2 cm) This small black pump body is the part that sits completely underwater in your basin or reservoir. It's significantly smaller than the 12V or high-flow models, making it a better fit for tiered fountains, narrow bowls, or shallow containers.
The 15W Poposoap solar aerator is a great eco-friendly option designed for small to medium ponds, typically in the 200C800 gallon range. While it can provide supplemental aeration in larger setups, it may not be powerful enough to fully oxygenate a 2000-gallon pond on its own especially during hot weather or when stocking fish. ? Heres what we recommend: For a 2000-gallon pond, youll want a larger aeration system or consider using multiple 15W units spaced across the pond for broader coverage. The 15W aerator is ideal for: Goldfish or koi holding areas Plant zones Small fishponds or seasonal ponds needing light circulation
The size of plastic tubing included or compatible with your solar pump depends on the model and flow rate of the pump. Heres a general guide: ? Typical Tubing Sizes by Pump Wattage: Pump Model Flow Rate (GPH) Tubing Inner Diameter (ID) Notes 6WC12W models 160C200 GPH 8mm (5/16") Fits standard risers or outlets 20W models 320 GPH 10mm (3/8") Sometimes includes 8mm adapter 25WC30W models 360C480 GPH 12mm (1/2") For higher-pressure flow setups 45WC50W models 480C660+ GPH 16mm (5/8") Compatible with PVC tubing setups ?? Note: Some models include multiple nozzle adapters to accommodate different tubing sizes, or no tubing at all if they are designed for fountain heads only.

? Yes, in many cases, you can purchase a replacement water pump separately, depending on your original model. ?? Heres how to proceed: Check the model you originally purchased (e.g. 6W, 12W, 20W, 25W, 45W solar pump kit) Email us with: Your Amazon or website order number A photo of your current pump and connector Your shipping address ?? Email: support@poposoapsolar.com ??? Why this is important: Some Poposoap pumps use specific connectors and voltage (like 12V or 18V DC) that must match your solar panel and battery system. We want to make sure the replacement pump you receive is fully compatible.
Our solar water pumps are automatically activated by sunlight there's no on/off switch needed. To turn it ON: Simply place the pump in water and expose the solar panel to direct sunlight. To turn it OFF: Cover the solar panel or move it out of the sun. The pump will stop running once it no longer receives solar energy. Its that simple clean, solar-powered convenience without the need for buttons or controls!
Great question and the answer depends on your pump model. In most cases, Poposoap solar pumps run only when the solar panel is receiving direct sunlight. Once the sun is blocked (due to clouds, shading, or evening), the pump typically stops because it no longer receives power. However, some models feature a built-in buffer or small internal capacitor that allows the pump to continue running for a short time (usually a few seconds to a couple of minutes) even after sunlight fades. This helps smooth out brief sunlight fluctuations. If you're looking for extended operation after sunset, we recommend using a model with a battery backup, which stores solar energy and keeps your pump running at night or during cloudy conditions. ?? Browse battery-compatible models here Not sure which model you have? Feel free to send us the product ID, photo, or manual reference well gladly assist you!

The 25W Poposoap solar pump typically has a maximum head height of around 6 to 8 feet (1.8C2.4 meters) under ideal sunlight conditions. ?? Max head height = the vertical distance the pump can push water straight up (not accounting for friction loss in tubing).
