In the world of fish farming, every attempt is a journey to explore the mysteries of life. I recently started a new Cichlid and Catfish farming project. It has been full of challenges and surprises. Along the way, I’ve gained a lot of valuable experience.
Early Stage Farming and Poposoap Products

For this reason, I placed a specially prepared breeding cave in the 40-gallon fish tank, and planned to use zucchini as their food. When catfish breed, the male fertilizes the eggs with the female in the cave. Afterward, the male guards the eggs and cares for the young fish.
I turned the breeding cave toward the outside of the fish tank. This way, I can always observe their breeding behavior. I’m excited to watch new life arrive.
Cichlid Breeding and Tank Conditions
At the same time, all kinds of fish in my 300-gallon fish tank are in good condition. Xiaohong can now feed freely on the water surface. Jiami is full of energy. The wound on the once-injured rainbow shark has completely healed. The tiger shovel nose has a small bump, but it’s nothing serious. The little ghost fish is thriving and will soon be moved to a larger tank. In the cichlid breeding area, I was surprised to find that many Lake Victoria cichlid mothers had eggs in their mouths.
To ensure the smooth birth of the young fish, I decided to raise the pregnant females separately. Although the sponge filter I ordered hasn’t arrived yet, I’ve placed some of the female fish in a temporary tank. I added driftwood to create a comfortable environment for them.
Equipment Maintenance and Optimization
Equipment maintenance is also an important part of the entire breeding plan. The new pump I am going to install has multiple ports to meet the operating needs of all fish tanks. The 300-gallon fish tank will also have a sponge filter added. This will help improve water quality and create a better living environment for the fish. The pacu fish in the 120-gallon tank tend to chase and bite. I’m carefully considering whether to move them to the 300-gallon tank for testing. While ensuring the health of the fish, I am also constantly optimizing the breeding layout.
